A dripping faucet, a loose sink, low pressure at one tap or a leaking bidet are common plumbing jobs. If it is leaking, turn off the shutoff valves under the fixture. A plumber can repair or replace the cartridge, valve, supply lines or the whole fixture.
Before you send a request
- Check where the water comes from. A drip from the spout often means a worn cartridge or washer. Water at the base often means a worn seal or a loose connection.
- If only one tap has low pressure, the aerator at the tip may be clogged with mineral buildup. You can often unscrew it and rinse it.
- For a bidet seat or attachment, note the brand and model. It helps the plumber bring the right parts.
- Take a photo of the fixture and the valves under it, and mention it in your message.
What to ask the plumber
- Whether a repair or a new fixture makes more sense for your fixture's age.
- A price before work starts, including parts.
- Whether you supply the new faucet or they do.
How it works
